A Wandering Mind Is Still Okay
Another misconception is that you aren’t practicing mindfulness correctly if your brain isn’t sticking with the process for every moment. The truth is that you’re human and your brain is going to wander a bit. Don’t beat yourself up. Instead, gently bring yourself back to whatever it is that you’re doing and keep trying. Before you know it, you’ll be an expert.
When you first start out, you might want more time to practice on your own. Take advantage of times when other family members or home care providers are available to take care of your loved one and use that time to work on your mindfulness practice.
